When to Use a Sprue Gripper

A sprue gripper is a purpose-built pneumatic EOAT gripper for removing runners, sprues and selected molded parts from an injection mold. It is usually chosen for compact size, fast response and a jaw profile that holds the target securely during robot extraction and transfer.

Standard Sprue and Runner Removal

Use a compact sprue gripper when the target has a repeatable geometry, sufficient stiffness and a consistent pickup location. Select the body size and jaw shape around the available mold space.

Part or Delicate Feature Handling

When gripping a molded part or a fragile feature, confirm allowable force, contact marks and positional variation. Custom jaws, sensors or a different gripper type may be more appropriate.
